Neighborhood
Services - Includes enforcement of all land use related City and
state regulations and policies in collaboration with other city and
county agencies, residents and business persons to promote and maintain
a high quality of life in our residential neighborhoods and vitality
in our commercial and industrial corridors. This program places high
priority on voluntary compliance and neighborhood empowerment, but
includes citation, prosecution and abatement activities when necessary
to achieve the goals. A portion of the Code Enforcement Program
is grant-funded through the Community Development Block Grant.
Goal of Neighborhood
Services: To investigate and resolve complaints about land use,
real property and public nuisance conflicts/problems in low and moderate
income areas and slum/blight areas with weekend presence. To learn

Code
Enforcement
Code Enforcement is a component
of the Neighborhood Services Program in CDBG eligible areas.
Code Enforcement
staff also supports neighborhood organizations and open communication
with residents and businesses to address proactively quality of life
issues in given neighborhoods. If

After Hours
and Weekend Code Enforcement - is responsible for investigating
complaints and obtaining compliance with city zoning, sign, real property
nuisance and garage sales ordinances.
Alarm System
Permit Program - is also managed by the Code Enforcement Bureau
and is responsible for administering the alarm system permit program;
monitoring police reports on alarm calls, issuing false alarm citations
and notices to obtain alarm permits. For additional information on

Neighborhood
Enforcement Team
Concentrated Code Enforcement is performed on a selected basis
for chronic or neighborhood wide problems that occur on weekends or
require intensified/concentrated efforts to achieve compliance. While
housed in the Police Department, the program relies on a high level
of coordination from other county agencies (Health, Animal Control,
Fire) and other city departments (Community Development and Public
