Graffiti
Abatement
The City of Gardena
Public Works Department removes graffiti 6 days a week. Graffiti is
a crime and blight on the community. It lowers property values, scares
residents and businesses away, discourages prospective businesses
and residents from relocating to Gardena and costs taxpayers over
$150,000 a year to abate. The Street Maintenance Division removes graffiti
from the streets and right of ways; property owners
are responsible for graffiti on private property. The City
removes graffiti from almost any surface, other than glass. Public
Works will provide information to property owners on how to landscape
their properties to prevent graffiti. For more information, or to
report graffiti, contact the Public Works Department, located at 1717
W. 162nd Street, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday,
or call them at (310) 217-9568. Graffiti can also be reported on the Graffiti hotline at (310)217-9650.
