  
PUBLIC SERVICE GOAL: To continually improve strategies and management
practices throughout the organization that enhance customer service,
ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory regulations, maximize
the allocation of resources throughout the organization and enhance
the City's public and professional image.
The Administrative Services Department was established in 2000 by transferring
some of the duties in the City Manager's Office to the Finance Department
in order to consolidate administrative support functions into a single
department. Administrative Services has three principal operating divisions:
Human Resources, Business Support Services, and Financial Services.
The Administrative
Services Department directs and plans the fiscal program of the City
and provides internal support to other operating departments through
its three principal operating divisions:

Human Resources is comprised of personnel, labor relations,
employment and
training services
and Gardena One-Stop Employment and Business Center.

Business Support Services is comprised of purchasing and contract
administration, communication
services, business license and cashiering, information services and
 reprographic
services.

Financial Services is comprised of general accounting, grants
accounting,
budgeting,
payroll, auditing and reporting.
