Medina is a long-time resident of Gardena and a very familiar face in the community. He has served as President and held numerous other leadership positions in dozens of local service organizations, including the Gardena Valley Lions Club, the Carson-Gardena-Dominguez Rotary Club, the Gardena-Carson Family YMCA, Gardena’s Cinco de Mayo Festival Committee, and the Kiwanis Club of Gardena Valley, to name just a few.
In addition to his community activities, Medina has been selected by his Council colleagues to represent the City of Gardena as its delegate to the California Cities for Self-Reliance Joint Powers Authority, the South Bay Regional Public Communications Authority, the South Bay Economic Development Partnership and the West Basin Water Association. He is also serving as the alternate delegate for the Centinela Youth Services, the County of Los Angeles Sanitation District No. 5, and the South Bay Cities Council of Governments.
He has promised to be pro-business and fiscally conservative in any decisions he makes as a member of the City Council.
Also, among his highest priorities: increasing the number of Gardena police officers, and improving the City’s communication with residents.
