Van Ness
Façade Program
The City of Gardena implemented an exterior façade program
utilizing Federal and local matching funds to improve and rehabilitate
buildings that comprise a commercial/retail block north of Rosecrans
Avenue on the west side of Van Ness Avenue from 14133 South Van
Ness Avenue through 13901 South Van Ness Avenue. The rehabilitation
will also provide improvements to the rear of the building.
In October 2002, Phase 1 of the façade program was completed.
This phase of the program resulted in a complete rehabilitation
of the front exterior of the buildings. Phase 2 includes the construction
of a courtyard parking area at the rear of the buildings and is
scheduled to be completed in 2004.
