Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Celebrations - Commemorative celebrations are held annually in January including a special youth evening program. The parade begins at the corner of Marine and Van Ness Avenue heading north on Van Ness Avenue to Rowley Park following the parade. Gardena Cymbidium Show -

Wall of Fame Dedication Ceremony - Held in September at the Nakaoka Community Center, 1670 W. 162nd Street at 10 a.m. Event honors citizens which have made outstanding contributions to the betterment of the community. Co-sponsored by the Gardena Beautiful Committee.

Annual Pancake Breakfast -Sponsored by the Gardena Police Department who kicks off the Annual Heritage Festival at the Nakaoka Community Center from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Proceeds to benefit the Gardena Police Explorers and Volunteer Programs.
